Yoga Class Styles

We have a range of yoga offerings at Chi Kin that are aimed to provide you a variety of styles to meet you where you are at in your practice and journey. All our classes incorporate breathing techniques (Pranayama) and meditation, and finish in a restful Savasana at the end.

To help you decide which class is right for you, we’ve broken our class style into the following groups:

Beginners Yoga

Beginners Yoga | Stretch | Yin

Our beginners yoga classes focus on building body awareness and developing your practice with steadiness and ease. Allowing time to find your own way from one position to the next as suits you and your range of movement.

Beginners classes are fantastic if you are new or returning to yoga, if you have limited range of mobility, or if you like to focus on getting deep into individual poses.

All Levels Yoga

Gentle Flow | All levels

These classes are open to all, there are options given for progressions and for ways to make postures a little easier in the body. Practising in a group of varied experience can bee a great way for newer students to gain confidence.

FLOW CLASSES

Build upon your foundation and work into a flowing style to tap into strength, calm and balance. Suggested for those with some yoga experience.

Beginners Yoga Classes:

Beginners Yoga

Setting the foundations of yoga - learn about postures, safe alignment, breath work and guided meditation practice for those new to the practice of yoga.

Stretch 

Our Stretch classes provide you with the opportunity to focus on improving the mobility of the whole body. These classes don’t involve strength work and often we stay on the ground.
Class concludes with guided relaxation.

Suitable for All

Monday 9am

Saturday 8:30am

Yin is a slower paced style of yoga where poses are held for long intervals (3-5 minutes generally). Long holds allow the stretches to work deep into the fascia - the connective tissue in your body - to create ease and movement in stubborn joints.

Suitable for all

Adjustments can be offered for any poses that don’t suit your range of movement.

Yin Yoga

Meditation

A weekly class dedicated to the practice of settling the body and calming the mind. The benefits of meditation are extraordinary- better mood, better sleep, lower heart rate and blood pressure, increased capacity to deal with everyday life stress

Class is suitable for beginners

Pilates

An exercise system developed to promote stability, strength and flexibility of the whole body which stems from the “core”. Cultivates awareness of breath and body to support everyday activities.

Tuesday 10am - beginners welcome

Clinical private sessions available with Dr Melissa Hehir- osteopath

Suitable for all.

Other Classes:

Mums + Bubs Yoga

A 6 week course incorporating social time, gentle strength, stretch and relaxation. Movement sequences designed to target areas affected by pregnancy and postpartum changes.

  • Suitable for beginners. All mums, dads and carers are welcome.

  • Mums we recommend waiting until you are 6-8 weeks postpartum.

Pilates
